Industry standard quality acceptance criteria for metal carved panels

As a new building material that integrates decoration, insulation, fire protection, and waterproofing, the quality of carved metal panels directly impacts building safety and service life. Acceptance testing requires systematic standards across three aspects: material performance, installation process, and finished product quality, ensuring that the project meets design requirements and industry standards.


1. Material performance acceptance: full testing of core indicators

(1) Base material and core material quality

The base plate must be made of galvanized steel (corrosion resistance ≥ 45 years) or aluminum alloy. The actual thickness should meet the design requirements (usually 0.27-0.3mm). Too thin will easily deform, while too thick will affect adhesion. The core material must be high-density XPS extruded board or rigid polyurethane foam with a density ≥ 30kg/m³. Inferior products with a density of less than 15kg/m³ are prone to water absorption and corrosion. The core material's hardness can be tested by pressing; high-quality products will not dent.

(2) Flame retardant and environmentally friendly performance

The core material must be flame-retardant treated to meet B1 fire protection standards. During sample combustion tests, high-quality panels leave a metal skeleton, while inferior products are completely carbonized. The surface coating of carved metal panels must be a weather-resistant material such as fluorocarbon paint, with a color retention period of 20 years or more, and must be non-radioactive, non-polluting, and environmentally friendly.


2. Installation process acceptance: details determine success or failure

(1) Structural connection and sealing

The number, location, and pull-out strength of pre-embedded components must meet design requirements, and the metal frame must be securely connected to the main structure. Glue injection in panel seams should be full, dense, and continuous, free of bubbles or discontinuities, with a width error of ≤1mm. Expansion joints and corners must be treated according to technical standards to prevent cracking and leakage.

(2) Waterproofing and thermal bridge treatment

The base wall surface should be sprayed with moisture-proof primer evenly, with no leaks. Wall defects such as wall bushings and scaffolding holes should be isolated with thermal bridge isolation measures to ensure thermal performance meets standards. The aluminum foil protective layer should completely cover the back of the core material to reflect heat and prevent moisture.


3. Acceptance of finished product effects: both aesthetics and practicality

(1) Surface quality and flatness

The surface should be smooth, clean, and uniform in color, free of scratches, pitting, or warping. Products engraved with CNC technology have crisp, clear patterns, while inferior products have blurred patterns and noticeable burrs. Check for smoothness using a wire drawing tool, with an error of ≤2mm/m.

(2) Seam and closing treatment

Joints should be straight, uniform in width, and free of noticeable misalignment or gaps. The edge trim should be neatly cut and tightly overlap the panels. Special areas, such as exterior corners, door and window openings, should be reinforced to prevent cracking or breakage.

By strictly adhering to the above standards, metal carved panel projects can achieve "zero quality defects and no hidden dangers", providing long-term and reliable decoration and insulation solutions for buildings.
